Emotional support for teenagers
Inner Strength and Calm is an empirically proven program - studies of participants have shown a reduction in symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as perceived stress
"The challenges facing today's generation of young people are unprecedented and extremely difficult to overcome. And the impact of these challenges on their mental health is devastating."
Vivek Murthy
Antidote to stress
Unprecedented levels of stress, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem are following teenagers into the classroom, occupying their minds and preventing them from learning.
This scientifically proven program teaches practical ways to regulate emotions and is designed to help students:
be more kind and supportive to ourselves
quiet your mind and re-focus
cope with difficult emotions such as anger, sadness and anxiety
free yourself from the comparison trap (including on social media)
overcome impulsivity or distraction to stay focused on the task at hand
overcome the tendency towards perfectionism and rumination
free yourself from the paralysis of over-analysis
Listen to what the program participants say
Research on this program

- neurotic states or feelings of intense shame
- anxiety, depression and stress

Benefits
Teens learn to cultivate mindfulness and self-compassion skills to help them cope with social comparisons, self-criticism, and difficult emotions . Teens are also given exercises to do at home to deepen their experience.
Program's origin
The program 'Inner Strength and Peace' - Originally Self-Compassion for Teens - was developed by Lorraine Hobbs PhD and Karen Bluth PhD. Adapted from the research-based Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program for adults developed by Chris Germer PhD and Dr. Kristin Neff.
Let's work together
My name is Ela Compton, I am a mother, a certified Mindful Self-Compassion teacher and a Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens teacher. I learned this special methodology of working with teenagers from Lorrain Hobbs herself and Nina Tamura. I also took part in workshops with Karen Bluth. I am the only teacher of this method in Poland and I translated the entire program into Polish, consulting with Polish teenagers.
Order a course for school
The course is suitable for teenagers and can be taken as part of school lessons - 16 hours of lessons. It is very valuable especially in the last years of high school when pressure increases and the ability to cope with stress becomes crucial. The tools of mindfulness and compassion are invaluable for teenagers of all ages.
