Mindful Self-Compassion
Mindful Self-Compassion
It is a practice focused on the Heart - our emotional resources.
The scientifically proven methods presented in the workshop - based on mindfulness and compassion - produce a mindset shift that helps you relate to burnout in a kinder and more productive way. This new paradigm can be developed through a set of concrete, learnable skills that can be practiced in daily life and do not require additional time.
Replacing self-criticism with compassionate internal dialogue is not only (as research shows) a more effective and lasting way to motivate oneself, but also a boost of strength needed for self-development. It includes both warm self-acceptance and resolute action in the world. It helps us set boundaries (for ourselves and others) and build better relationships with people. The ability to emotionally regulate and deal with the stress that is inevitable in everyone's life are essential for health and for self-development.
It is not about peace of mind but the ability to cope with unavoidable stress and overwhelm. Self-compassion is a warm, supportive presence in one's own life, in connection with others. Anyone can learn it, change old habits, discover kindness to oneself and send the virulent inner critic into a well-deserved retirement.
Research shows that mindfulness and self-compassion are strongly associated with reducing anxiety, depression and stress, improving emotional well-being, maintaining healthy living habits and satisfying personal relationships.
Mindful Self-Compassion - Mindful Self-Compassion is an 8-week scientifically proven program created by: Dr. Chris Germer (psychiatrist and pioneer of mindfulness in psychotherapy) and Dr. Kristin Neff (pioneer of mindfulness research).
